modul - passed ep (No Response)

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

Minimal with a swing. Definitely some interesting tunes to check out. Function One is definitely the best one, very nice atmosphere on that one with some acid influences.

cd-r - vesna (Electrosound.ru)

Monday, February 12th, 2007

Rich glitchy IDM. Great work with stereo. This must sound mind-blowing in a live performance setting. Minimal, yet rich in texture. Wow!

d.soul - mad morning ep (Bump foot)

Friday, January 12th, 2007

Minimal as it is supposed to be: Minimal, atmospheric, very interesting, inducing a state of trance. Excellent choice of sounds, nice minimal rhythms. Four excellent tracks, with the title track standing out above the rest.

ocp - atmos (Serein)

Thursday, January 11th, 2007

Ambient soundscapes can be very boring when done wrong, especially because they drone on and on. Ocp knows this, realizes this, and so releases this album full of beautiful, accessible and not-too-long soundscapes. This is how it should be done. Ocp is also not too shy to use rhythmic elements (atmos two!) which enrich the […]

egg box - mowl brain (Al dente)

Wednesday, December 13th, 2006

Excellent dark and minimal techno music. Varying from music for the dancefloor to music to listen to. Parts remind of excellent Plastikman material. For lovers, this is one to have.

zilp & zalp - nachtleben ep (Debun)

Monday, December 11th, 2006

Very nice minimal house, done with a drive. Tastefully executed in two remixes of the track Nachtleben and zalp’s mix of Schwutzen. Zilp seems to have a more dark, acid influence on things where zalp is more of the minimal, dry sort of music. The combination brings us a nice 3-piece ep ready for the […]

diskofreud - post apokalyptische trash studien (labil recordings)

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

Very minimal techhouse of the sort that does not seem very interesting when listening closely, but which works well in the background and does stick to you. It has a very dry sound which does not work in all tracks, but which does work nicely in some places.

philipp weigl - monsters (thinner)

Sunday, November 26th, 2006

This release is far more original than a lot of thinner releases, however I still rate it 3/5. Why? The release itself is a lot of the same. It is nice to have good vocals, it is nice to have good music, but if 8 tracks totalling nearly 35 minutes all sound alike, it just […]

tatsu - space travel ep (Bump foot)

Sunday, November 12th, 2006

More tech-house/minimal on a netlabel, but this one at least stands out above the rest a bit. It has feeling and drive, and stays interesting. Three great tracks for dancing or chilling.

gastón arévalo - música para pecéras ep (Tropic)

Monday, November 6th, 2006

A more than interesting release by an artist I had not heard of before. A combination of ambient, minimal and electronica in a very organic way. Beautiful, detailed, soothing. Amazing stuff.
