modul - passed ep (No Response)

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

Minimal with a swing. Definitely some interesting tunes to check out. Function One is definitely the best one, very nice atmosphere on that one with some acid influences.

sascha müller - testpress ep (Xynthetic)

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

Now *this* is what Sascha Müller is good at. Techno as it is supposed to be. Dark and brooding. Yet with Time Lock, Sascha is able to go downtempo without losing character and style. On Time Lock release, Sascha sounds like a darker version of Plastikman! Very interesting. Where Testpress was a bit more laidback […]

cd-r - vesna (Electrosound.ru)

Monday, February 12th, 2007

Rich glitchy IDM. Great work with stereo. This must sound mind-blowing in a live performance setting. Minimal, yet rich in texture. Wow!

nick zero - extrem solution (zimmer records)

Monday, February 12th, 2007

This 4-track release by Nick Zero has much of the WOW-factor. He brings to us some very nice refreshing techno, that you can not stop listening to once you press play. Quite overwhelming, excellent stuff. Words can not describe. Go, and listen.

sascha müller - schlachtfest ep (Säurebad)

Tuesday, January 30th, 2007

Did I ever mention hard? Säurebad is a new label dedicated to the 303, and you’ll know it. Sascha shows that he knows how to work the 303, but also knows his drum machines. Well done hard house.

d.soul - mad morning ep (Bump foot)

Friday, January 12th, 2007

Minimal as it is supposed to be: Minimal, atmospheric, very interesting, inducing a state of trance. Excellent choice of sounds, nice minimal rhythms. Four excellent tracks, with the title track standing out above the rest.

xyn - l10 ep (Xynthetic)

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006

One of the founders of this new label has produced the initial release on the label. Atmospheric stomping techno is the keyword. Executed in an excellent way, this works both on the dancefloor and for your listening pleasures. Keywords: Fast, dirty, atmospheric. Like that? Get it!

egg box - mowl brain (Al dente)

Wednesday, December 13th, 2006

Excellent dark and minimal techno music. Varying from music for the dancefloor to music to listen to. Parts remind of excellent Plastikman material. For lovers, this is one to have.

the ascent - unsigned (Mixotic)

Monday, December 11th, 2006

One of the best DJ mixes I’ve heard ever, with an excellent choice of music (all unreleased according to the Mixotic playlist, which is unfortunate because I’d love to have these tracks individually as well) and well-done mixes. Great variation between banging techno tunes and dreamy electronica.

zilp & zalp - nachtleben ep (Debun)

Monday, December 11th, 2006

Very nice minimal house, done with a drive. Tastefully executed in two remixes of the track Nachtleben and zalp’s mix of Schwutzen. Zilp seems to have a more dark, acid influence on things where zalp is more of the minimal, dry sort of music. The combination brings us a nice 3-piece ep ready for the […]
