diskofreud - post apokalyptische trash studien (labil recordings)

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

Very minimal techhouse of the sort that does not seem very interesting when listening closely, but which works well in the background and does stick to you. It has a very dry sound which does not work in all tracks, but which does work nicely in some places.

sascha müller - tales of mystery ep (Gargan records)

Sunday, November 26th, 2006

Some very hard house for the lovers. Personally, yes, I definitely dig this type of house music. Dark, hard, with an aggresive mood.

tatsu - space travel ep (Bump foot)

Sunday, November 12th, 2006

More tech-house/minimal on a netlabel, but this one at least stands out above the rest a bit. It has feeling and drive, and stays interesting. Three great tracks for dancing or chilling.

2loop - bedroom sessions (Digilog)

Thursday, November 2nd, 2006

Earlier on I wrote about Simulacraic that it was pleasant but not too exceptional. 2loop seems to be in the same league as Businovski here, though 2loop definitely has a better feeling for progression and variety. This one kept me interested much longer. The fact that this release is also a bit shorter does help. […]

manziping - valpo (Yukiyaki)

Wednesday, November 1st, 2006

A new label for me, Yukiyaki knows good music. A combination of IDM and tech-house, both listeners and dancefloor junkies can be happy with this release. Interesting from start to end, which is with only 5 tracks still a respectable 44 minutes of music.

ben businovski - simulacraic wonderland (Thinner)

Wednesday, November 1st, 2006

Dreamy and minimal in that typical Thinner style, this release is one that is pleasant to listen to, but that does not necessarily stands out in the crowd of the available music at Thinner. The music nicely grooves along, but it never stands out. Still, pleasant music to listen to or as background for doing […]

emil klotzsch - feinquisit (One)

Wednesday, November 1st, 2006

Ever since I found out about the One netlabel, I’ve been a happy listener of their offerings. This nice release offers crackles and noises in a pleasant way. The (german) vocals that are used here and there, though occasionally a bit whining, fit in with the atmosphere of the music. Very nice.
