xyn - l10 ep (Xynthetic)

★★★★☆
One of the founders of this new label has produced the initial release on the label. Atmospheric stomping techno is the keyword. Executed in an excellent way, this works both on the dancefloor and for your listening pleasures. Keywords: Fast, dirty, atmospheric. Like that? Get it!

egg box - mowl brain (Al dente)

★★★½☆
Excellent dark and minimal techno music. Varying from music for the dancefloor to music to listen to. Parts remind of excellent Plastikman material. For lovers, this is one to have.

the ascent - unsigned (Mixotic)

★★★★☆
One of the best DJ mixes I’ve heard ever, with an excellent choice of music (all unreleased according to the Mixotic playlist, which is unfortunate because I’d love to have these tracks individually as well) and well-done mixes. Great variation between banging techno tunes and dreamy electronica.

zilp & zalp - nachtleben ep (Debun)

★★★★☆
Very nice minimal house, done with a drive. Tastefully executed in two remixes of the track Nachtleben and zalp’s mix of Schwutzen. Zilp seems to have a more dark, acid influence on things where zalp is more of the minimal, dry sort of music. The combination brings us a nice 3-piece ep ready for the nightlife of many clubs and parties.

diskofreud - post apokalyptische trash studien (labil recordings)

★★★☆☆
Very minimal techhouse of the sort that does not seem very interesting when listening closely, but which works well in the background and does stick to you. It has a very dry sound which does not work in all tracks, but which does work nicely in some places.

sascha müller - tales of mystery ep (Gargan records)

★★★★☆
Some very hard house for the lovers. Personally, yes, I definitely dig this type of house music. Dark, hard, with an aggresive mood.

philipp weigl - monsters (thinner)

★★★☆☆
This release is far more original than a lot of thinner releases, however I still rate it 3/5. Why? The release itself is a lot of the same. It is nice to have good vocals, it is nice to have good music, but if 8 tracks totalling nearly 35 minutes all sound alike, it just doesn’t work that well.

("philipp weigl - monsters (thinner)")

muhr - drames et précipices (zymogen)

★★½☆☆
Sometimes minimal, and mostly organic. That’s the best description for this release. There’s no outstanding work on this release, but it’s all definitely not bad either. It is just unfortunate that the music by Muhr could’ve been the music by quite a few other artists.

("muhr - drames et précipices (zymogen)")

dj peter presto - demo

★★★½☆
A DJ that puts up a demo mix for the world to hear. There’s tons out there and most are so-so, or even outright bad. Peter Presto did it slightly better. His mix is very good, an hour of great house music. No commercial stuff, yet still very accessible. Nice dancefloor material.

tatsu - space travel ep (Bump foot)

★★★½☆
More tech-house/minimal on a netlabel, but this one at least stands out above the rest a bit. It has feeling and drive, and stays interesting. Three great tracks for dancing or chilling.
